Public Policy Manager

About the role

AstraZeneca is looking for a Public Policy Manager to develop and implement strategies that influence patients' paths and align with corporate priorities. The role works closely with internal teams and external partners to build public affairs projects and policy initiatives supporting patient access, engaging stakeholders, conducting research and building networks across legislative, regulatory and public policy fields.

Key responsibilities

• Develop public policy strategy and align therapeutic area priorities with corporate affairs, market access and business priorities.
• Develop, validate and implement therapeutic area public policy projects and related activities.
• Liaise with business unit brand managers and colleagues to explain how developments affect their brands and to build communications programmes.
• Contribute to strategic policy initiatives and corporate governance, working with cross-functional teams.
• Prioritise partnerships that address healthcare challenges and inefficiencies where they benefit patients most.
• Take part in corporate affairs and communications projects and engage with sales teams, charities, industry associations, embassies, government lobbyists and regulators.
• Build internal and external networks and share best practices and standard methodologies.
• Carry out research on legislation, regulation, managed markets and public policy.
• Act as main contact for patient advocacy groups and lead communications and patient advocacy programmes on disease awareness, diagnosis, access to care and policy advocacy.

Required profile

• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills with attention to detail.
• Understanding of the healthcare system, reimbursement environment and the policy shaping process.
• Agile, ambitious and able to balance priorities in a shifting environment.
• Ability to work with cross-functional partners and connect people, projects and partners.
