Programme Support Officer – Resource Mobilization

About the role

The Programme Support Officer will work under the Deputy Chief of Mission and the Programme Support Coordinator to strengthen IOM Iraq’s resource mobilisation and external liaison functions. The role supports the development and implementation of projects that address emerging migration and displacement challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing resource mobilisation strategies and donor engagement plans.
• Develop project proposals, manage grant applications and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
• Prepare and submit regular project reports, monitoring results and outcomes.
• Coordinate with programme units to align fundraising activities with operational priorities.
• Maintain knowledge‑management tools and facilitate internal information sharing.
• Support external liaison with governments, UN agencies and other partners.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in International Relations, Development, Migration Studies, Law or related field with at least two years of relevant experience, or a university degree with four years of experience.
• Proven experience in results‑based project development, technical writing and editing, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector.
• Demonstrated expertise in donor relations, proposal development and grant management within the displacement and migration context.
• Previous work experience in a United Nations agency or programme and knowledge of the UN Common System.
• Familiarity with foreign government funding mechanisms.
