Mechanical Site Supervisor

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Site Mechanical Supervisor to oversee safe, compliant, and high‑quality mechanical construction, installation, testing and pre‑commissioning activities at its Basra site. The role involves supervising EPC contractors, coordinating with multiple disciplines and ensuring successful handover of mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily installation of rotating and static equipment, piping, tanks, vessels, pumps, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers and associated auxiliaries.
• Monitor equipment receipt, storage, preservation, handling, alignment, grouting, bolting, lubrication and final installation against approved drawings and vendor documentation.
• Ensure compliance with approved AFC drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs and applicable international standards.
• Review and close out punch items, non‑conformities and corrective actions, and assist in preparation of as‑built documentation.
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces with civil, structural, piping, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, process and package vendors.
• Support mechanical completion, preservation, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and handover activities.

Required profile

• More than 10 years of mechanical construction and site supervision experience on large EPC/EPSCC projects in oil & gas, power generation, water treatment or major industrial facilities.
• Previous experience as a Site Mechanical Supervisor or similar role on major projects, preferably in the Middle East.
• Hands‑on experience with rotating equipment, static equipment, piping, pumps, compressors, turbines, vessels, heat exchangers and lifting equipment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction methods, equipment installation, alignment, grouting, preservation, inspection and testing.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment layouts, general arrangement drawings, foundation drawings, P&IDs, piping isometrics and vendor manuals.
• Familiarity with ITP, RFI, NCR, punch‑list, mechanical completion and turnover processes.
• Working knowledge of applicable standards such as API, ASME, ISO, ASTM, NFPA and project‑specific requirements.
