Material Manager

About the role

The Material Manager will oversee the handling, storage, and distribution of materials and fixtures required for the installation, maintenance, and shutdown of complex machinery and plant equipment. This role ensures that all items arrive on time, are correctly identified, and are delivered to the right teams while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage material and fixtures during installation and maintenance activities for gas/steam turbines, compressors, and related plant systems.
• Receive and verify incoming shipments using Box Content Lists, Packing Lists, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Inspect material cases for integrity and open them for use on site.
• Organise storage areas and warehouses in line with manufacturer and client procedures.
• Supervise warehouse personnel and coordinate manpower for efficient operations.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical field service engineers to hand over materials according to the activity schedule.
• Generate activity reports (DOR, FSR) and utilise electronic tools such as EDM, TCE, and SR.
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC and EHS standards and maintain relationships with customers and equipment manufacturers.

Required profile

• Experience in machinery installation and maintenance, particularly gas/steam turbines, compressors, or generators.
• Proven ability to manage material and fixture logistics for large‑scale industrial projects.
• Strong competence in inspecting and processing incoming material cases.
• Capability to supervise warehouse staff and manage storage with a focus on material protection.
• Familiarity with handling non‑conformities (NCM) and coordinating timely replacements.
