Licensed Trading Officer

About the role

The Licensed Trading Officer acts as the accredited representative of the firm before the Iraq Securities Commission and the Iraq Stock Exchange. The role manages the daily trading desk, processes client orders, and ensures compliance with all regulatory and internal procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, validate and execute client buy and sell orders on the Iraq Stock Exchange, respecting client limits and account status.
• Monitor electronically routed orders to the international broker, resolve rejections or partial fills, and handle exceptions with the broker’s operations team.
• Perform pre‑trade checks including client identity, account status, available funds or securities, and any compliance or AML flags.
• Maintain accurate, time‑stamped records of all order activities as required by regulations.
• Coordinate daily settlement with the Iraqi Depository Centre and settlement bank, reconciling trades against client accounts.
• Track corporate actions, trading suspensions, price limits and exchange announcements, updating client positions and the trading platform accordingly.

Required profile

• Passed broker‑representative examinations approved by the Iraq Securities Commission and the Iraq Stock Exchange, or holds current accreditation.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience on a brokerage trading desk licensed on the Iraq Stock Exchange.
• Clean criminal record and no regulatory disciplinary sanctions.
• Fluent Arabic and working English, high numerical accuracy, and ability to work under market‑hour pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Iraq Stock Exchange trading system.
• Knowledge of Iraqi Depository Centre settlement procedures.
• Understanding of compliance, AML/CFT, and risk procedures.
