Junior Project Officer (Migration Prevention Project, Iraq)

About the role

The MRAPP project, funded by the Government of the Netherlands, strengthens migration prevention and improves access to migration-related information, counselling, referral and reintegration services in Iraq. Implemented by ICMPD in close coordination with the Ministry of Migration and Displacement and other stakeholders, the project focuses on strengthening and expanding the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC) model. This Junior Project Officer position sits within the MRAPP project team, reports to the Project Manager and supports the effective delivery of project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support project cycle implementation: maintain an overview of project activities and follow up on bottlenecks, review expenditures and flag budget increases, and contribute to financial and project reports
• Implement project activities as assigned by the supervisor
• Draft inputs for Terms of Reference, specifications and recruitment of experts, consultants and service providers, and keep track of their contracts
• Support stakeholder management by preparing talking points, background and presentation material for events, meetings, workshops and outreach, and overseeing logistics
• Contribute to new project concepts and resource development, and support knowledge gathering, dissemination and knowledge building

Required profile

• Master's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field; a Bachelor's degree with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted instead
• At least 1 year of experience supporting project implementation in migration or a related field at the international level
• Good analytical, drafting and organisational skills, and good communication skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic; Kurdish (Sorani) is a strong asset
