About the role
The IT Manager will provide administrative and executive oversight of the Information Systems Unit at the Iraq branch, ensuring the implementation of the bank’s IT policies, strategies, and infrastructure projects in line with head‑office directives.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and submit IT policies and procedures for the Iraq branch in coordination with the head‑office Information Systems Department.
- Set and implement the branch’s IT strategy and annual objectives, managing budget allocations.
- Supervise staff, set performance objectives, evaluate performance, and develop capabilities to improve service quality.
- Participate in hardware, service, and system selection; evaluate proposals, conduct financial and technical analyses, and forward recommendations.
- Ensure regular backup of system data to guarantee business continuity.
- Monitor business and user requirements, coordinating with head‑office to develop and maintain information systems.
- Periodically verify the effectiveness, integrity, and operational readiness of all IT and communication systems, documenting faults and issues.
Required profile
- Proven experience in managing an IT unit, including policy development and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and evaluate staff performance.
- Experience in budgeting, procurement, and vendor evaluation for hardware and software solutions.
- Strong understanding of backup procedures and business continuity practices.
- Ability to monitor and assess system performance against user requirements.
