Finance Director

About the role

Alhasani Home Center is looking for an experienced Finance Director to lead its Finance Department at the headquarters in Baghdad. The role involves overseeing all financial operations, strengthening controls, and supporting strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Finance Department, overseeing accounting, reporting, budgeting and financial planning.
• Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
• Manage annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, payments, bank transfers and reconciliations.
• Direct month‑end and year‑end closing processes and ensure timely reporting.
• Oversee tax reporting and ensure compliance with tax laws and financial regulations.
• Establish financial policies, procedures and internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and resolve audit findings.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, profitability and trends to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Present periodic financial reports and recommendations to the Board and relevant departments.
• Develop the finance team, defining responsibilities and ensuring consistent performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including senior leadership.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management and internal controls.
• Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are an advantage.
• Membership in a recognized accountants’ association is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookup functions and PivotTables.
