External Audit Associate – Assurance

About the role

PwC Middle East is seeking an Audit Associate to join its Assurance practice in Iraq. You will work within a diverse team to deliver high‑quality external audits and statutory reporting for a range of clients, applying both human expertise and technology‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Execute external audits and statutory reporting for various client types.
• Research and understand client industry information prior to engagements.
• Analyse engagement economics, compare actuals to budgets and explain variances.
• Collaborate with teams to apply audit strategies, assess risks, evaluate internal controls and draft audit reports.
• Document internal controls and the control environment.
• Work closely with senior associates to identify potential risk areas.
• Stay updated on local and national business and economic issues.
• Ensure compliance with risk, quality and independence standards.
• Develop internal and external relationships while reflecting PwC values.
• Participate in digital initiatives and upskilling activities aligned with team objectives.
