About the role
The Electrical Engineer will lead electrical project execution, operation and maintenance for a pharmaceutical facility, ensuring safe and reliable power to production, utilities, laboratories and GMP‑critical systems. The role supports new projects, expansions, modifications and routine operations in line with engineering specifications, electrical standards, GMP and EHS requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Lead electrical work for new facilities and plant expansions from design review through commissioning and hand‑over.
- Review single‑line diagrams, load calculations, cable sizing, equipment specifications and distribution layouts.
- Manage operation and maintenance of LV/MV distribution, transformers, diesel generators, UPS, MCC/PCC, VFDs, motors and protection systems.
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance, handle breakdowns and coordinate shutdowns to maximise availability.
- Investigate electrical failures, lead root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate electrical supplies and control interfaces for HVAC, cleanrooms, utilities and critical pharmaceutical systems.
- Lead FAT/SAT, electrical testing and commissioning and support DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ activities.
- Enforce electrical safety, EHS, lock‑out/tag‑out and permit‑to‑work requirements.
- Manage contractors, evaluate bids, monitor quality, schedules and costs within budget.
- Maintain drawings, specifications, as‑built documentation and asset registers.
- Monitor electrical consumption, power factor and implement energy‑saving improvements.
- Supervise and develop engineers and technicians and coordinate with QA, Production and other departments.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing, with hands‑on project, plant maintenance and commissioning.
- Proven experience with LV/MV distribution, transformers, diesel generators, UPS, MCC/PCC, VFDs, motors and protection systems.
- Knowledge of GMP, EHS, electrical standards and qualification documentation.
Required skills
- Technical and team leadership, project execution and electrical troubleshooting.
- Root‑cause analysis, reliability engineering and energy management.
- Contractor and vendor management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Experience with CMMS or SAP PM.
