Diagnostic Technician

About the role

The Diagnostic Technician is responsible for identifying and resolving complex vehicle faults using advanced diagnostic equipment. Working closely with maintenance teams and manufacturer support, this role ensures that all repairs are accurately diagnosed, verified, and documented.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic and mechanical diagnostics with a diagnostic tool.
• Read and analyze Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
• Inspect vehicle systems such as engine, transmission, A/C, and ADAS.
• Read and trace wiring diagrams.
• Conduct electronic adjustments using diagnostic tool functions, including multimeter mode.
• Execute programming, software update, reset, and relearn procedures.
• Verify completed repairs and write detailed reports.
• Support maintenance technicians on complex faults.
• Communicate with the manufacturer’s technical support for fault analysis.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
• Understanding of communication networks, especially CAN‑BUS.
• Familiarity with modern vehicle technologies such as ADAS, ESP, ABS, EV, and HEV.
• Experience working in an automotive dealership environment.
