About the role
The Corporate Credit Analysis & Underwriting Team Leader will head the credit analysis and underwriting unit within the bank’s Corporate Banking division. This senior position is responsible for delivering rigorous credit assessments, guiding portfolio strategy, and ensuring compliance with credit policy and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Corporate Credit Analysis & Underwriting Unit and supervise its daily operations.
- Prepare comprehensive credit assessment reports for new and existing corporate clients, covering financial, industry, market, management and SWOT analyses.
- Identify key risks, recommend mitigants, structure facilities, set pricing, covenants and collateral requirements.
- Evaluate customer profitability, relationship value and strategic fit for the bank.
- Review Relationship Managers’ recommendations and provide independent credit opinions.
- Present credit proposals to Credit Committees and address any queries.
- Coordinate with Relationship Managers, Credit Review, Risk Management, Legal, Compliance and Operations to ensure high‑quality submissions.
- Monitor and analyse the overall Corporate Banking portfolio, including sector, industry, geography and obligor concentrations.
- Identify emerging portfolio risks and recommend corrective actions, sector limits or rebalancing strategies.
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews, produce analytics and management reports, and support the development of portfolio strategies aligned with the bank’s risk appetite and growth objectives.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking or Business Administration; MBA or professional qualifications are a plus.
- 5–10 years of banking experience, with at least 5 years in Corporate Banking, Credit Analysis, Credit Risk or Corporate Credit.
- Proven track record in corporate financial analysis, credit underwriting and presenting cases to Credit Committees.
- Previous team‑leadership experience is preferred.
- Fluent in Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
