Chief Financial Officer

About the role

The Chief Financial Officer will shape and execute the financial strategy for the organization in Iraq, partnering directly with the CEO and senior leadership to drive sustainable growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives and providing strategic guidance to senior management.
• Lead the finance function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, KPI monitoring, and internal controls.
• Partner with commercial teams to evaluate pricing, promotions, customer profitability, and new market opportunities.
• Manage working capital, cash flow, liquidity, and credit controls while optimizing the cash conversion cycle.
• Oversee inventory and supply‑chain finance, ensuring accurate product costing and margin analysis.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate governance.
• Drive cost‑management initiatives, monitor operating expenses, and support profitability improvement across the organization.
• Identify financial risks, maintain strong internal controls, and develop risk‑mitigation plans.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and Arabic with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership roles such as Finance Director, CFO or Financial Controller.
• Significant experience in the Consumer Goods industry and strong commercial finance partnering skills.
• Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, working‑capital management, and financial reporting.
• Experience leading and developing finance teams and working with ERP systems.
