Chief Accountant – SAP Experience

About the role

Laith Al Obaidi Group, a leading automotive and trading company in Iraq, is seeking a Chief Accountant with strong SAP expertise. You will lead the accounting function, ensure compliance with IFRS, and deliver accurate financial reporting across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounting cycle, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS.
• Maintain internal controls, coordinate audits and ensure tax compliance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Supervise cash management, bank reconciliations and treasury activities.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, providing training on IFRS and SAP.
• Drive process improvements and digital transformation initiatives within accounting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA or ACCA preferred.
• 7‑10 years of accounting experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail and integrity.
