Branch Manager

About the role

Bank of Baghdad is looking for an experienced Branch Manager to join its Branch Banking team in Baghdad. The successful candidate manages daily branch operations, achieves business targets, develops customer relationships, leads branch staff and ensures compliance with the Bank's policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Working days are Sunday to Thursday, with medical and social insurance provided.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily branch operations in line with the Bank's policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement business plans to meet sales, revenue and profitability targets.
• Drive customer acquisition and grow deposits, financing and other banking services.
• Build and maintain relationships with individual and corporate customers.
• Lead, supervise and develop branch employees; monitor performance against KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, Central Bank of Iraq requirements, AML, CTF and KYC, and operational risk and internal controls.
• Oversee cash management, transaction processing, branch security and customer complaint handling.
• Monitor expenses, prepare regular performance reports, coordinate with Head Office and follow up on audit findings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics or a related field.
• At least 8 years of banking experience, including a minimum of 2 years as a Branch Manager.
• Certified Branch Manager qualification is required.
• Experience in sales management, business development, customer relationship management and team leadership.
• Good understanding of banking regulations, AML, CTF and KYC, and operational risk and internal controls.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of banking operations, products and services.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Preferred: branch banking operations, deposit mobilization, financial performance monitoring, budgeting, cash management and banking systems.
