Backend Developer (Mid-Level)

About the role

The Backend Developer will design, build and maintain scalable backend services for NASS AL‑Iraq. You will work closely with senior developers, frontend teams and QA to deliver high‑quality, secure solutions while expanding your expertise in architecture and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise RESTful APIs and micro‑services using Java, Node.js or C#/.NET.
• Design database schemas, write stored procedures and optimise SQL/NoSQL queries.
• Integrate external APIs, authentication services, payment gateways and message queues.
• Implement security measures, caching, error handling and API versioning.
• Write unit, integration and functional tests and participate in code reviews.
• Apply CI/CD pipelines, monitor performance and resolve bottlenecks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java, Node.js or C#/.NET.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD tools.
• Solid knowledge of relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of micro‑services architecture, REST, message queues and event streaming.
• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, encryption and caching mechanisms.
