Special Educator

About the role

KADD Academy is seeking a dedicated Special Educator to join its multidisciplinary team in Sulaymaniyah. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on delivering evidence‑based education to middle‑school‑aged children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other disabilities, supporting their academic and developmental progress.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized learning plans tailored to each student’s needs.
• Teach and support middle‑school students using proven special‑education strategies.
• Collaborate daily with therapists, psychologists, and other specialists to align educational goals with therapeutic interventions.
• Maintain a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement.
• Communicate regularly with caregivers to ensure consistency between home and school approaches.

Required profile

• Strong expertise working with individuals with disabilities, especially ASD.
• Proven teaching experience with middle‑school children using special‑education methods.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Adaptability and problem‑solving abilities to create personalized support plans.
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field; specialized certification is desirable.
• Experience with ABA therapy or other evidence‑based interventions is a plus.
