Site Manager / NAVAIDS Manager (Balad, Iraq)

About the role

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a full‑time Site Manager/NAVAIDS Manager to lead the maintenance, repair and support of navigational aids, radar, communications and airfield lighting at Balad Air Base, Iraq. The role operates in a 24/7 deployed environment and serves as the primary liaison between the Prime Contractor, government stakeholders and air traffic control.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all NAVAIDS, radar, communications and airfield lighting maintenance activities.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures and inspection regimes.
• Maintain accurate equipment inventories and documentation, including logs and repair reports.
• Manage the maintenance and repair budget, ensuring expenditures are justified and within limits.
• Coordinate with air traffic controllers and other maintenance teams to guarantee operational readiness.
• Provide monthly status reports and act as the primary point of contact for quality‑assurance audits.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing maintenance operations for airfield or similar critical infrastructure.
• Ability to work in a high‑tempo, 24/7 deployed setting.
• Strong communication skills for interfacing with contractors, government officials and technical staff.
• Experience preparing and presenting technical and budgetary reports.
