About the role

Cedars International School (CIS) in Erbil is seeking an experienced School Principal to lead its IB World School community. The Principal will shape the strategic direction, uphold academic excellence across the PYP, MYP and DP programmes, and foster a culture of inclusivity and international‑mindedness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a clear vision aligned with the IB mission and learner profile.
• Lead the school’s strategic plan, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
• Oversee the implementation and integration of PYP, MYP and DP curricula, ensuring coherence and high‑quality teaching.
• Recruit, mentor and retain high‑quality teaching and administrative staff; promote professional development.
• Ensure student safety, well‑being and holistic development, including counseling and learning support services.
• Build strong relationships with parents, alumni and the wider community; represent the school at local, national and international events.
• Manage the school’s financial resources, budgeting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in an International Baccalaureate school or comparable international curriculum.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans and foster a culture of academic excellence.
• Strong track record in staff recruitment, mentorship and performance management.
• Commitment to student welfare, inclusive education and community engagement.
• Excellent communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
