National Project Officer (Livelihoods)

About the role

The National Project Officer (Livelihoods) will lead technical teams implementing livelihood programmes such as Individual Livelihoods Assistance, Employment for Public Works and Graduation Approach initiatives. The role reports to the Head of Division, PRSD and works closely with the Livelihoods Senior Programme Coordinator and Operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate overall technical implementation of livelihood projects, ensuring compliance with IOM policies, grant agreements and financial, logistical and administrative requirements.
• Monitor project progress against work plans, document results, evaluate outcomes and identify causes of deviations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in political/social sciences, international relations, development studies or related field with four years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with two years of experience.
• Proven experience leading livelihoods initiatives for international humanitarian organisations and liaising with government authorities, UN agencies and NGOs.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of livelihood‑related subject areas and governmental livelihood programmes.
• Understanding of financial rules and regulations applicable to humanitarian projects.
