M&P Construction Lead – Infrastructure (Iraq)

About the role

The Mechanical & Piping (M&P) Construction Lead will direct all field construction activities for mechanical and piping scopes across brownfield and greenfield projects in Iraq. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Lead provides senior‑level technical guidance, ensures HSSE compliance, and drives disciplined execution across multi‑phase programs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all mechanical and piping construction work on multiple simultaneous fronts, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, cost control and quality.
• Provide technical direction, coaching and performance oversight to construction teams and contractors.
• Manage daily/weekly planning, work‑front readiness and resource allocation.
• Coordinate execution with civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation and commissioning disciplines.
• Conduct constructability reviews, lifting studies, access planning and brownfield tie‑in strategies.
• Validate engineering deliverables for completeness, accuracy and sequencing alignment.
• Approve method statements, ITPs, JHAs and technical procedures.
• Drive off‑plot fabrication, pre‑assembly, modular construction and standardized installation practices.
• Oversee inspection, testing and commissioning activities including hydro‑testing, flushing, leak testing and mechanical completion.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in mechanical and piping construction on large infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑discipline teams in brownfield and greenfield environments.
• Strong knowledge of HSSE standards and industry codes (ASME, API, ISO).
• Demonstrated expertise in constructability, modularization and off‑site fabrication.
• Excellent communication skills to interface with engineering, procurement, QA/QC and commissioning teams.
