Junior Research Analyst – MENA Focus

About the role

IN2IN2 is seeking a Junior Research Analyst to join its Erbil office. You will work on a variety of socio‑political, security and economic topics across the MENA region, supporting high‑impact programmes for governments, NGOs and private sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on socio‑political, security and economic issues relevant to the MENA region.
• Monitor open‑source media and publicly available information, synthesising key findings for stakeholders and senior management.
• Assist programme staff in creating high‑quality reports and deliverables for IN2 projects.
• Help develop relationships with new clients and partners.
• Draft communications materials, ad‑hoc reports and other content to promote IN2’s work.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to senior research and business‑development colleagues as needed.

Required profile

• Native‑level English with strong written English/Arabic and editing experience.
• Exceptional report‑writing abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of, or prior experience working on, the MENA region.
• Strong academic background in research and analysis (Political Science, International Relations or related field).
• Ability to critically assess sources and present findings clearly.
• Interest in complex social problems in the MENA region.
• Team player comfortable working in a culturally diverse environment.

Required skills

• OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) experience
