HSE Supervisor

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced HSE Supervisor to join its Iraq Business Unit in Basra. The role focuses on ensuring that operations and maintenance (O&M) activities are carried out in strict compliance with all applicable health, safety and environment (HSE) laws, regulations and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure O&M activities comply with local HSE legislation and customer HSE plans.
• Promote and enforce the Customer Golden Rules and Safety Culture programmes.
• Monitor the implementation of the Permit to Work system and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Conduct regular site checks, audits and inspections to verify compliance.
• Support emergency response planning and execution.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HSE Supervisor in the oil & gas sector.
• Strong knowledge of Iraqi HSE regulations and international standards.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site with occasional travel.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and internal teams.
