GL Accounting Supervisor

About the role

The GL Accounting Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and fixed‑asset records, ensuring accurate monthly and annual reporting, and supporting audit activities. The role acts as a key finance partner to plant and operational teams, handling approvals, closing activities, balance‑sheet governance, budgeting, inventory control, and capex accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end closing, including accruals, journal entries, adjustments and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and cash‑flow analysis.
• Review and approve purchase orders, contracts and supplier invoices within delegated authority.
• Perform bank, inter‑company and balance‑sheet reconciliations, resolving outstanding items.
• Record depreciation, maintain fixed‑asset registers and monitor capital expenditure.
• Support inventory movement, physical counts, write‑offs and pallet receiving in the manufacturing system.
• Prepare audit schedules, respond to queries and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Assist in annual budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting and preparation of depreciation projections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CPA/CIMA) preferred.
• 5‑10 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems and month‑end closing.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience using ERP accounting modules.
