About the role
Valiant Integrated Services is seeking qualified Arabic linguists to provide interpretation, transcription, and translation services in support of U.S. operations and mission requirements. The position involves working in austere environments and may require travel within Iraq.
Key responsibilities
- Perform accurate consecutive translation, transcription, and interpretation of Arabic to English and vice‑versa, including colloquial and slang expressions.
- Analyze and research foreign‑language documents, providing cultural and ethnic context for statements, conversations, and written material.
- Operate in challenging field conditions, such as extreme temperatures, dusty environments, and uneven terrain.
Required profile
- Native‑level proficiency in Arabic and English (ILR Level 3/3 preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of Iraqi culture and prior work experience in the region.
- Ability to understand standard dialects without frequent paraphrasing.
- Physical capability to handle lifting, climbing stairs, and extended periods of sitting or standing.
