Senior Control System Engineer

About the role

Wood is recruiting a Senior Control System Engineer for its Iraq business unit. The role focuses on designing, configuring, testing and commissioning control and automation systems for complex upstream and midstream oil and gas projects. It is a full‑time on‑site position in Basra with a 28 day on / 28 day off rotation and travel requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop control logic using IEC 61131‑3 standards.
• Perform system integration testing and conduct FAT/SAT.
• Configure control interfaces such as Modbus, Profibus and HART.
• Support lifecycle maintenance, upgrades and modifications.
• Participate in alarm rationalisation and tuning activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 + years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience with PCS and SIS platforms.
• Knowledge of networking within process control domains.
• Familiarity with HMI and historian integration.
