About the role
The Property Specialist, based in Balad, Iraq, works under the direction of the Property Manager to ensure full accountability of government‑owned property and materials. The role involves receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking items in compliance with FAR, DFAR, and applicable Army regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain 100% accountability of government property and material in warehouses, tool rooms, and storage yards.
- Receive, count, and record stock items using the Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Perform periodic inventories, reconcile physical counts with system data, and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare adjustment documentation for lost, damaged, or destroyed items and ensure timely submission.
- Label and tag items with identification methods such as stamps, electric marking tools, or tags.
- Assist in palletizing, sorting, and banding parts for turn‑in to DRMO or other requirements.
- Maintain equipment utilization logs and generate program status reports.
- Support the development and implementation of property policies and procedures.
Required profile
- Experience with government property or material management, preferably in a military or defense environment.
- Familiarity with FAR, DFAR, and Army regulations governing property accountability.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established timelines and procedures.
- Capability to work independently while coordinating with Operations, Maintenance, and Service Desk teams.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Maximo CMMS for inventory tracking and data entry.
- Knowledge of property labeling and tagging techniques.
