Midlevel / Senior Accountant

About the role

The Intermediate/Senior Accountant will be the primary finance operator for Rahal‑IRQ, the main operating entity in Iraq. Reporting to the Head of Finance (remote in Jordan) and coordinating with the Senior Finance Lead, the role covers all transactional accounting, payroll, compliance, banking, Qi account management, and corporate card oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, manage AP aging, and prepare weekly payment run proposals.
• Chase outstanding receivables, maintain AR tracker, and report collection status weekly.
• Reconcile AP and AR sub‑ledgers to the general ledger at month‑end.
• Own the full month‑end close: post accruals, pre‑payments, depreciation, payroll journals, and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, record additions/disposals, and calculate monthly depreciation.
• Post intercompany entries with the Rahal‑UAE entity and agree intercompany balances.
• Calculate and process monthly payroll for Iraq‑based staff, prepare payslips, and initiate salary transfers.
• Submit monthly social‑security and labor‑authority contributions.
• Manage the company’s Qi profile, record daily inflows/outflows, and reconcile Qi balances to the accounting system.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close and general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Experience processing payroll and handling statutory contributions.
• Ability to manage fixed‑asset registers and intercompany transactions.
