Internal Control Officer

About the role

The Internal Control Officer will perform control and review activities across the bank’s branches and departments, ensuring compliance with the Central Bank of Iraq regulations and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal control reviews and examinations according to approved policies.
• Verify cash transactions, transfers, remittances, accounts, and banking services for accuracy and completeness.
• Check signatures, approvals, stamps, commissions, and fees against authorized limits.
• Prepare working papers, checklists, and documentation of control activities.
• Identify and report control deficiencies, irregularities, and non‑compliance cases.
• Follow up on corrective actions and verify implementation of remedial measures.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold integrity, objectivity, and professional independence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, banking, business administration, economics or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in banking, financial or control‑related functions.
• Knowledge of Central Bank of Iraq regulations and banking policies.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills with ability to identify risks and non‑compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with banking systems and computer applications.
