Treasury Accountant

About the role

This Treasury Accountant role covers daily treasury operations, including local and international payments, fund transfers and cash management. It involves coordinating with banks, handling import payments and letters of credit, preparing cash reports and supporting month-end closing and audits.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily treasury operations, including local and international payments, fund transfers and cash management.
• Coordinate with banks, preferably Iraqi banks, on payment processing, banking documentation and pending transactions.
• Handle import payments, SWIFT transfers and letters of credit, along with related banking, customs and import documentation.
• Ensure compliance with CBI regulations, banking requirements and company payment policies.
• Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding differences.
• Record bank receipts, payments, transfers, bank charges and foreign exchange differences in SAP S/4HANA.
• Prepare daily cash position reports, weekly cash flow forecasts and rolling 13-week cash flow projections, including variance analysis.
• Monitor liquidity, forecast funding needs and coordinate with AP, AR and other departments on expected cash flows.
• Support month-end closing, treasury reporting, internal controls and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant treasury experience, preferably in manufacturing or import-oriented companies.
• Practical experience with Iraqi banks, CBI requirements, import payments and international remittances.
• Good communication skills in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting.
• SAP B1 and SAP S/4HANA.
• Advanced Excel.
