Student Supervisor

About the role

Meltho International School in Erbil, part of the SABIS educational network, is looking for a Student Supervisor. This is a non-teaching position within the Student Life and Student Management department, responsible for the school's disciplinary issues and for maintaining an environment with a limited number of infractions.

Key responsibilities

• Check corridors, bathrooms and classrooms before the school day starts to keep the environment clean, safe and well maintained.
• Coordinate the student line-up before, during and after recess with the SLO prefects to keep order and quiet.
• Manage travel time between classes so students move efficiently.
• Mentor students on the importance of discipline and keep a quiet environment after breaks.
• Ensure students are in class on time and report attendance and infractions accurately in the SABIS School Management System (SSMS/SIS).
• Contact and follow up with parents about student absences.
• Observe classes and promote the Student Life Code of Honor.
• Keep the school safe, prevent bullying and fighting, and inform students of possible disciplinary actions such as classroom or after-school detention.
• Accompany students to the bus area after school and make sure each gets on their allocated bus.
• Prepare daily reports on teacher observations, student infractions and teacher complaints, assist in exam hall supervision, enforce safety rules and take initiative on behavioral issues.
• Attend weekly team meetings on student behavior and perform other delegated tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• English proficiency.
• Professional behavior and ethical conduct.
• Ability to deliver results, continuous learning, accountability, interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving.
• Meets country and local education and certification requirements, and passes reference and criminal background checks.
