Senior Accountant (Vehicle Sales & Service)

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead the accounting function for vehicle sales, spare parts and service operations at SAS Erbil. This position ensures accurate financial recording, compliance with regulations, and provides timely reporting to support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP, AR, bank reconciliations and cash management.
• Record vehicle sales, spare parts sales and service revenues accurately.
• Oversee inventory accounting for vehicles, parts and work‑in‑progress, performing stock reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing, preparing financial reports and branch P&L statements.
• Monitor branch expenses against budgets, analyse variances and advise management.
• Manage customer receivables, dealer accounts, credit limits, vendor payments and aging reports.
• Ensure proper documentation and approval of cash receipts, bank transactions and payments.
• Maintain compliance with tax regulations, PIT, social security and statutory requirements.
• Assist internal and external audits and implement effective internal controls.
• Provide financial guidance to sales, service and operations teams and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
• Hands‑on experience in financial reporting, audits, taxation and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in Kurdish, Arabic and English.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with accounting software.
