Senior Accountant – Sulaymaniya

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Sulaymaniya, Iraq. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting cash‑flow management, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions and maintain ledgers for accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Monitor cash flow, assist in budgeting and financial planning.
• Handle invoicing, payments, receipts and follow up on credit collections, including on‑site visits when required.
• Visit banks for deposits and transfers, and support tax audits with necessary documentation.
• Manage expense sheets and ensure timely payment of invoices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 4–5 years of professional accounting experience.
• Valid Accounting Syndicate ID (mandatory).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
