Ramp Services Section Head

About the role

The Ramp Services Section Head leads all ramp operations at an airport, ensuring compliance with ICAO Annex 27, IATA AHM/IGOM, and internal SOPs. The role combines hands‑on operational oversight with strategic management, covering aircraft turnaround, baggage and cargo handling, surface transport, GSE management and ramp safety.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise marshalling, towing, loading/unloading and coordinate aircraft turnaround.
• Manage baggage and cargo sorting, transport, ULD handling and Dangerous Goods compliance.
• Oversee aircraft cleaning, water/lavatory servicing and cabin climate control.
• Coordinate surface transport for crew, passengers (PRMs, VIPs) and baggage.
• Implement Safety Management System, occurrence reporting and FOD prevention.
• Ensure staffing, training, PPE provision and GSE serviceability.
• Develop annual operational plans, rosters, contingency procedures and emergency drills.
• Prepare and monitor CAPEX/OPEX budgets, report KPIs and support audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Airport/Aviation Management or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in ramp operations/ground handling.
• 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Proven expertise in IATA AHM/IGOM‑compliant operations and large‑scale ORAT projects.
• Strong command of English; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• MS Office proficiency.
• Knowledge of AODB, RMS and OCC systems (desirable).
• Familiarity with GSE maintenance systems (desirable).
