Planning Engineer (EPCM) – Onsite

About the role

The Planning Engineer will join KBR's EPCM project in Basra, Iraq, reporting to the Project Control Manager. This onsite position supports the development and maintenance of detailed project execution schedules for a large‑scale engineering, procurement, construction, and management (EPCM) contract.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Level 1, 2 and 3 project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Coordinate inputs from engineering, procurement, and construction teams to build the master schedule.
• Monitor progress, update schedules regularly, and identify potential slippages.
• Produce regular progress reports, including Schedule Performance Index (SPI) and critical‑path analysis.
• Ensure schedule alignment with cost engineering, risk management, and overall project assumptions.
• Participate in bid schedule evaluation and contractor plan reviews.
• Maintain contract key dates, milestones, and project hub plan dates.

Required profile

• Local national of Iraq.
• Experience in planning for EPCM projects, preferably in the oil & gas or heavy‑industry sector.
• Ability to work on a 28/28 rotation schedule.

Required skills

• Primavera P6 scheduling software.
