Painter - Hotel Maintenance

About the role

A hotel in Baghdad is looking for a Painter to carry out painting work inside and outside the property. The role covers guest rooms, public areas, offices and back-of-house facilities, and works closely with the Engineering team to keep hotel operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Perform interior and exterior painting of guest rooms, public areas, offices and back-of-house facilities.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks and applying primers.
• Apply paints, varnishes, stains and finishes using the right tools and techniques.
• Touch up paintwork as needed to keep a high standard of appearance.
• Repair minor plaster, drywall and surface defects before painting.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and complete assigned work orders on time.
• Handle, store and dispose of painting materials and chemicals properly.
• Comply with health, safety and environmental regulations at all times.
• Coordinate with the Engineering team to minimise disruption to guests and hotel operations.
• Report maintenance issues beyond painting to the Engineering Supervisor.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Painter, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and time management skills.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Physically fit and able to work at heights when required.
