Mechanical Engineer – EPCM Projects (Iraq)

About the role

NOVARGI is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support EPCM projects at its base camp near Amarah, Iraq. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation, inspection, commissioning and quality assurance of mechanical equipment and piping systems.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation of static and rotating equipment, including handling, alignment, preservation and reinstatement.
• Monitor piping fabrication, welding, testing and installation activities.
• Review engineering documents such as P&IDs, isometrics, general arrangement drawings, vendor drawings and datasheets.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality procedures and international standards.
• Review ITPs, ITRs, WPS, method statements and QA/QC documentation.
• Utilize Navisworks Freedom for model reviews and construction coordination.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10–12 years of experience on EPCM projects, preferably in gas plants, refineries, petrochemical facilities or pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment installation, preservation, piping, welding and fabrication.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
