Lead Planner/Cost Subject Matter Expert (SME)

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Lead Planner/Cost Subject Matter Expert to support its Singapore Business Unit while operating onsite in Basra, Iraq on a 28‑day on/28‑day off rotation. The role focuses on budget execution, cost control and purchase order monitoring for the ST department, ensuring projects stay within financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Track the ST department’s annual budget execution, identify deviations and coordinate mitigation measures to maintain budget compliance.
• Prepare the department’s annual budget based on project plans and strategic objectives, ensuring it is realistic and aligned with actual needs.
• Monitor purchase order execution and budget implementation, compile relevant data and report on financial performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align cost planning with project schedules and deliverables.

Required profile

• Proven experience in planning and cost management within upstream or midstream oil and gas projects.
• Strong understanding of budgeting processes, cost control and financial reporting.
• Ability to work onsite in Basra under a 28/28 rotation schedule.
• Excellent analytical and coordination skills.
