I&C and SCADA Engineer

About the role

Bureau Veritas Iraq is seeking an experienced I&C and SCADA Engineer to join its team in Basra. The role focuses on the installation, testing and commissioning of plant control systems, ensuring seamless integration with power and monitoring equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of SCADA, DCS and PLC systems.
• Integrate inverters, transformers, weather stations, protection relays and metering devices with the plant SCADA.
• Prepare and review I&C design documents, logic diagrams, communication protocols and control philosophy.
• Supervise and witness factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for I&C systems.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise plant performance through SCADA and monitoring platforms.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants and utility/grid operators to ensure compliance with grid code requirements.
• Maintain cybersecurity, data integrity and reliable communication across the control system network.

Required profile

• Proven experience in I&C engineering for industrial plants.
• Strong understanding of SCADA, DCS and PLC architectures.
• Ability to work on‑site in Basra and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
