Human Resources Manager

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will lead the HR function for Laith Al Obaidi Group, an automotive trading company in Baghdad. You will be responsible for attracting, developing and retaining talent while ensuring compliance with Iraqi labour laws and aligning HR initiatives with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies and workforce planning aligned with company objectives.
• Design organizational structures, job descriptions and support organisational development initiatives.
• Oversee full recruitment cycle, employer branding, onboarding and probation processes.
• Design performance appraisal systems, link results to compensation and promotions, and manage succession planning.
• Manage payroll preparation, salary structures, incentives, commissions and employee benefits.
• Monitor HR budget, control personnel costs and prepare HR reports and analytics.
• Ensure compliance with local labour laws, handle disciplinary actions, grievances and maintain confidential employee records.
• Track attendance, leave and other employee records, and analyse turnover to recommend retention strategies.
• Promote a high‑performance culture through employee engagement initiatives and internal communication support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Iraqi labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication and analytical abilities.
