Human Resources Director

About the role

The Human Resources Director will join the senior leadership team of a leading consumer‑goods organization operating in Iraq. Reporting directly to the General Director, the role is responsible for shaping and executing the people strategy across the business while overseeing HR, Administration and HSE functions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the overall HR strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead HR, Administration and HSE teams, ensuring high performance and operational excellence.
• Strengthen the HR leadership structure and drive transformation, governance and accountability.
• Advise senior leadership on organizational and people priorities, including change and restructuring initiatives.
• Manage complex employee and stakeholder matters, fostering strong employee relations.
• Build succession pipelines, improve performance management and boost employee engagement.

Required profile

• Extensive senior HR leadership experience in large, complex organisations.
• Multinational exposure and experience in regional or family‑owned businesses.
• Proven track record of HR transformation, organisational development, restructuring and change management.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex business environments.
• Broad HR expertise across talent, succession, performance, employee relations, reward and HR operations.
• Experience building strong HR teams and leadership capability.
• Background in manufacturing, FMCG or similar operational environments is highly preferred.
• Commercially astute, decisive and able to act as a trusted advisor.
• Willingness to be based in Karbala, Iraq.
