Horizontal Foreman – Material Handling & Heavy Equipment

About the role

The Horizontal Foreman will be stationed at the Baghdad Embassy Compound (BEC) Amentum site, supporting the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract for the U.S. Department of State. The role oversees daily material handling and heavy‑equipment operations, ensuring safety and efficiency for a multinational workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and comply with all EHS and QA requirements.
• Schedule and assign daily work for material‑handling and heavy‑equipment crews.
• Review work orders, determine safety permits, and allocate appropriate equipment.
• Document all work order activity and generate required and ad‑hoc reports.
• Order supplies and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
• Train personnel on equipment operation and monitor performance.

Required profile

• Minimum two (2) years of experience with horizontal earthwork and material‑handling equipment.
• Ability to lift 30 lb, work in adverse weather, and navigate construction sites.
• Experience coordinating Transportation Movement Requests (TMR) and working with a multinational team.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and cross‑cultural communication skills.
