General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant will support daily accounting operations and the month‑end close process. You will prepare schedules, maintain journal documentation, perform reconciliations and ensure that all evidence is audit‑ready. The role works closely with Accounts Payable, Revenue and Payroll teams to resolve exceptions and maintain data integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare assigned month‑end close schedules (accruals, deferrals, prepaids, clearing accounts) and meet deadlines.
• Compile and file complete support documentation for journal entries and route them for independent approval.
• Perform sub‑ledger to schedule tie‑outs, clear accounts and document variances with corrective actions.
• Coordinate with AP, Revenue and Payroll teams to resolve missing documentation, timing or coding issues, tracking exceptions to closure.
• Maintain organized audit‑ready evidence files and retrieve documents for audit sampling.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (or equivalent diploma with experience).
• 1–2 years of experience in accounting operations or month‑end close support.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective coordination and follow‑up with cross‑functional stakeholders.

• ERP reporting – Oracle Fusion exposure preferred
