Experienced Cook – Pakistani, Chinese and Continental Cuisine

About the role

An international company, represented by a confidential client, is looking for an experienced cook in Al Basrah who can prepare Pakistani, Chinese and Continental dishes. The cook must be able to manage daily kitchen operations independently and maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Measure and manage ingredient portions accurately to ensure consistency and reduce waste.
• Apply proper cooking techniques so that taste, texture and presentation meet expectations.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation and hygiene in the kitchen in line with food safety regulations.
• Monitor kitchen operations to ensure meals are prepared and delivered on time.
• Handle kitchen equipment safely, including knives and cooking appliances.
• Perform food preparation such as chopping, marinating and seasoning.
• Manage time across multiple cooking tasks and adapt to menu changes and special dietary requirements.
• Maintain stock levels, inspect ingredients and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Work independently and collaborate with other kitchen staff to support efficient service.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in cooking.
• Strong culinary skills and a thorough understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards.
• Disciplined, reliable and able to work independently.
