Database Supervisor

About the role

The Database Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the management, performance, security, and availability of the bank’s databases. This role ensures reliable and efficient database operations while supporting business and IT initiatives across all departments and branches.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative supervision of the Database Team.
• Manage daily database operations, user accounts, access privileges, and creation of new databases.
• Implement and maintain database security, confidentiality policies, and performance optimizations.
• Monitor backups, verify integrity, and ensure high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions are in place.
• Perform SQL tuning, capacity planning, and implement monitoring tools to detect issues proactively.
• Generate technical reports, track incidents, and maintain a log of root‑cause analyses.
• Coordinate with IT projects, contribute to Business Continuity Planning, and ensure compliance with Central Bank regulations.
• Evaluate staff performance, distribute workload efficiently, and provide technical support across all bank locations.
