About the role
The Cashier is responsible for handling cash, cheques and bank card transactions, maintaining the cash drawer, and ensuring accurate financial records in the branch.
Key responsibilities
- Enter funds received from customer purchases into the cash register and issue vouchers.
- Accept cash, cheques, or bank cards and process transactions according to established procedures.
- Count money, give change, issue receipts, and maintain an updated information sheet of all payments and receipts.
- Transfer money to the petty cash box following company policies.
- Maintain sufficient change in the cash drawer and perform fiscal counts, balancing the drawer and documenting discrepancies.
- Deposit daily cash collections into the bank account as per policy.
- Perform any related tasks requested by the direct supervisor.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance or a diploma in accounting.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
