BNI Head – Building & Infrastructure Inspection

About the role

Bureau Veritas Iraq is looking for a highly qualified BNI Head based in Baghdad. The role covers business development, P&L responsibility, operations management and technical control of building and infrastructure inspection services, while leading and mentoring a team of engineers and inspectors.

Key responsibilities

• Handle P&L responsibilities, sales activities and identify new business opportunities
• Lead operations, finance, administration and technical activities of B&I Iraq, driving continual improvement of service quality
• Liaise with clients, coordinate with performing centers and take part in pre-inspection meetings
• Manage contracts and negotiate with clients
• Ensure continuous implementation and effective use of digitalized systems
• Conduct reviews, inspections and other technical control tasks, applying key civil engineering standards
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and inspectors, and manage team performance and resource allocation
• Report progress to N+1 and management, and uphold the Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering (minimum Bachelor's)
• Graduate engineer with 10-15 years of inspection experience on building or infrastructure projects, high-rise buildings, large water reservoirs, hotel and commercial complexes, with experience in at least three of these areas
• Experience with P&L, sales and business development
• Fluent English and fluent Arabic, written and spoken

Required skills

• Fully conversant with key civil engineering standards
• Strong contracts management and negotiation skills
• In-depth knowledge of HSE principles, risk assessment and incident management
• Proficiency in MS Office and operational reporting tools
• Leadership, stakeholder management and strong organizational and time-management skills
