Accounts Payable & Receivable Accountant

About the role

Tameer Al-Janoob Co. for General Contracting & Transportation Ltd. (TAJ) is looking for two experienced accountants to join its finance team in Basra. The positions focus on either Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable within the oil & gas, logistics, transportation, and heavy‑equipment sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, perform bank and account reconciliations, and support financial reporting.
• For Accounts Receivable: issue invoices, manage client collections, reconcile receivables, and produce ageing reports.
• For Accounts Payable: verify supplier invoices, match purchase orders, schedule payments, and reconcile payable balances.
• Maintain accurate records in Odoo and SAP systems.
• Utilise advanced Microsoft Excel functions for analysis and reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of accounting experience in oil & gas, logistics, transportation, or heavy‑equipment industries.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to work under pressure.
• Preference for candidates residing in Basra.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Odoo.
• Proficiency in SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
