UH-60 Aircraft Mechanic II – Erbil, Iraq

About the role

The UH‑60 Aircraft Mechanic II is responsible for performing comprehensive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on UH‑60 military helicopters stationed in Erbil, Iraq. The role involves working on airframe structures, power‑plant systems, landing gear, flight controls, and associated subsystems to ensure aircraft readiness for operational missions.

Key responsibilities

• Remove, install, service, and lubricate aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, transmissions, and mechanical flight controls.
• Conduct scheduled and special inspections, operational checks, and test flights, documenting findings in aircraft logs.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in structures, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and ventilation/heating systems using specialized tools and test equipment.
• Interpret technical manuals, maintenance action messages, and other official guidance to execute maintenance procedures.
• Maintain and operate ground support equipment, including power tools, torque wrenches, and forklift when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; FAA A&P license preferred.
• Three + years (or two + years with A&P) of recent UH‑60 aviation maintenance experience.
• Valid U.S. passport (minimum 2 years), ability to obtain Public Trust NAC‑I and Iraq visa, and U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to meet CENTCOM MOD physical requirements and pass respirator fit test.
• Willingness to work in austere, noisy, and dirty shop or field environments.

Required skills

• Aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair.

• Basic electrical theory applied to aircraft systems.
• Proficiency with torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet‑metal brakes and shears.
