About the role
The Project Director – Iraq will lead the execution of EPC contracts for combined‑cycle power plant conversion projects in Kirkuk and future sites under memorandum of understanding. Reporting to the Executive Project Director‑Iraq, the role oversees a multi‑regional team and ensures delivery that meets safety, quality, schedule and budget targets while complying with Export Credit Agency financing requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clear written and verbal communication with the client (Iraq Ministry of Electricity), internal staff, SEGI leadership and all suppliers.
- Manage overall safety, quality, schedule and financial performance of the project in alignment with the shared governance model.
- Direct planning, staffing, contracting and execution of EPC activities for power‑plant conversion projects.
- Ensure compliance with financing conditions of ECA partners such as US Exim Bank, SACE (Italy) and Turk Eximbank.
- Coordinate project teams located in Iraq, the surrounding region and the United States.
- Monitor and report project progress, risks and issues to senior leadership.
Required profile
- Proven senior‑level experience managing EPC projects in the power‑generation sector.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑regional project teams and deliver results within safety, quality, schedule and budget constraints.
- Familiarity with Export Credit Agency financing requirements and internal governance processes.
- Willingness to travel extensively (>50 % of time) to Iraq, Turkey and Western Europe.
